Last week I shared my definition of authenticity.
It focuses on two points: knowing your values and aligning your life around them.
Well, I’m proud to say that I’ve been practicing what I preach!
One of my fundamental values is sustainability, being a kind steward of this planet. It’s a shared resource, you know? I believe we all have a responsibility to take care of the earth.
I take that responsibility seriously.
Another one of my fundamental values is helping people be great pet owners. I write my blog to provide nonjudgmental, useful, funny, down-to-earth guidance to people who love their dogs and cats as much as I love mine.
I take that responsibility seriously, as well.
So, I decided to align my values with my calendar and put some serious time, tools, and resources into combining the two.
And so, The Zero-Waste Pet was born.
Currently, it consists of two free, action-packed, non-judgey guides:
There’s also a free 7-day zero-waste pet care email challenge that delivers one actionable tip each day for seven days.
But wait! There’s more! (HA!)
I created a full-length, easy-to-follow, actionable, and crazy affordable guide called–what else?–The Zero-Waste Pet.
It’s full of tools, tips, advice, resources, recipes, and a top-secret, password-protected website that has a ton of free downloads and recommendations corralled for you in one easy space. The extra site is a living, breathing webpage that gets updated regularly, too, so after you buy the book, you have access to all updates for life.
Creating this website, writing the book, writing the guides, creating the email challenge… whoo, boy. It’s taken a TON of time. And there’s so much more I want to create, too!
I feel like this is a true expression of authenticity for me: I’ve aligned my values with my time to produce something I’m proud of and something that helps pet parents take awesome care of their pets AND take awesome care of the environment at the same time.
Not gonna lie, you guys. I’m super proud of this.
I’d LOVE for you to join me on this journey.
I’m all about teeny, tiny, little steps that add up to huge leaps. Probably the best place to start would be the free 7-day zero-waste pet care email challenge that delivers one actionable tip each day for seven days. Each day is a super-small action that adds up to big-time momentum. I’d really, truly love for you to join me for the challenge.
(Or, heck, if you’re all in already, pick up the full guide here!)
Anyway, for all my talk re: authenticity, I wanted to be sure to write this post to show that I’m walking the talk, y’all. I am so pumped to keep working on this project and aligning my values with my time!
